A Nostalgic Walk ...

My this write-up is dedicated to all the  pahadis  of Uttrakhand who are staying far from their native land. Growing up in the hills is a blessing, you can live like a free spirit and enjoy the gifts of nature. Those who have been hampered by the mighty Himalayas might be feeling nostalgic on recalling the time they spent in the hills. One of the best childhood memory is visiting our grandparents' village on vacations and fishing in the nearby river, there is nothing more pure and wonderful than dada dadi's love for their grandchildren. It's a bond like no other - the unconditional love grandparents have for their grandchildren is which we have with us for the lifelong in form of remembrance. I am sure everyone remember those days when our loving parents used to sing a lullaby called Ghughuti basuti to make us fall asleep. Although, those words have faded from our memories and it’s hard to recall them, but the nostalgic memory of it is still scratched in our h

Two Important Things that Matters in any Relationship

Image Source:Pinterest I was not born with natural abilities to develop and build great relationship with my partner but t hese are skills like any other that can be learned and mastered if I recognizes the need and takes the time and effort to develop them. I have learned that n o matter what your relationship is, both partners have to be willing to do two things: prioritize and communicate. Whether we are entering a new relationship or trying to recover an old one. But yeah! according to me Prioritizing your partner and communication plays a vital role. 1. Prioritize your partner. Yes, it is sometimes difficult to do this among all the oth

Travel diaries: At Dol Ashram, experience peace and silence

Uttarakhand is a place with serene beauty of mountains, waterfalls, grasslands,  lakes , holy pilgrimage and valley of flowers.   Dol ashram was established by Kalyan Das Ji during his Mansarovar Journey. During the journey, Babaji met Maa Bhagwati and got motivated to start the ashram in the Himalayas. In 1990’s Kalyan Das Ji established the Kalyanika Himalaya Dev Sthanam ashram between a thick forest near Almora. If I had ever imagined what heaven looked like in my childhood, the view from here came the closest. The Ashram is in the middle of the forest with not a single human being in sight surrounded by towering oak and rhododendron trees, clouds passing through us, only the sound of birds to keep us company, and an endless green path laden with plum trees and colorful  flowers. This place is good for the bird watcher. One can see many Himalayan species in this Dol Ashram. This place is meant to be explored and taken care of by tourists like it is their o

Are My Mood Swings Normal?

You're up. You're down. And you're soon up again. It seems like you spend your days riding an emotional roller coaster. Are these changes normal? The answer is "maybe" -- so long as they don't disrupt your life or the lives of people around you. Many things can affect how your mood shifts throughout the day. For example, because of body rhythms, most people feel upbeat and energetic around noon but tend to have more negative feelings during the early afternoon or evening. Sometimes, mood swings are a symptom of a mental illness Or they could be a clue that something else is happening in your body. Serious mood shifts that threaten your well-being can be treated by medical professionals. Lifestyle changes can often help mild ones. But first, you'll need to figure out what could be causing your bumpy ride. Stress and Anxiety Day-to-day hassles and unexpected surprises -- both the good kind and the unpleasant ones -- can definitely chang
