The
beautiful women of Uttarakhand are fond of wearing jewellery specially crafted
in gold. Whenever you visit hills, you will see pahari ladies wearing
traditional jewelries such as Paunje, Galobandh, Hansuli, Nath and Kundal with
great pride. But with the modernization, pahari women are getting attracted to
contemporary modern designs and traditional jewellery pieces are being ignored.

Nathuli – Nath is the charm of pahari women
which id popular for its elegant style. It is worn by Kumauni and Garwali
women. However, there is a variation in the style and design but charm remains
the same. During any wedding, Nath is the star attraction and is celebrated for its artistic design as it is one of the most distinguished ornament.
2) Galobandh- Galobandh is also one of the prominent jewellery of Pahari culture.This elite neck piece is donned by Kumauni, Garwali and Bhotiya women and is only for married women. Unfortunately, this elegant jewellery is out of fashion now and has been replaced by modern jewellery.
4) Pahunchi- Panunchi are basically bangles that are made out of gold and are very popular in Uttarakhand. It is considered to be an auspicious jewel for the married women and is worn at the time of festivals and family functions.A red coloured cloth is used as the base material on which gold is studded.
